General Information

  • Visiting hours are from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. Remind your visitors to leave cameras at home and to not bring family pets. Visitors will need to check in at the front desk; the admissions entrance is for incoming patients only. If your visitors are bringing items for you, please have them check in with the hall technician. A "Visitors List" is circulated in each hall for you to list expected visitors. The list is given to our security staff so they can expedite the visiting process. Please advise any potential visitors that we do not allow any homemade food to be brought for patients. Any food, beverage or cigarettes must be factory sealed.

  • Telephone access is between 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 p.m. Sunday. Each patient is allotted two 15-minute phone times on Saturday and two 30-minute phone times on Sunday. Hall residents negotiate the schedule, and no incoming calls are permitted. Phone calls are outgoing calls only and are made via calling cards or collect calls.

  • A small bookstore is located on the campus and carries stamps, some basic toiletry items, candy, cards and literature about chemical dependency that your counselor may recommend. The bookstore does not accept bank check cards, ATM cards or debit cards. Please note that in order to use a credit card in the bookstore, the card must be in your name.

  • If you require specialized medical services while at Betty Ford Center, please be aware that you will need to pay for those services with cash or a credit card at the time services are rendered. Not all providers will accept a personal check. Examples of specialized services include one-on-one assistance with activities of daily living, special equipment, dentists, psychiatric consultation, and/or medications, etc.

  • Miscellaneous charges may be made for books, additional person(s) in the family program, etc. All such charges are due and payable on discharge.

  • The Betty Ford Center is a training institution. Health care professionals, medical students, medical residents, fellows and other professionals may be participating for brief periods of time in the treatment program. Residents and/or fellows may be participating in the care and treatment patients receive while at the Betty Ford Center.
